CANASB MISSION
CANASB is a Canadian, federally registered, not-for-profit corporation, created by men and women of different ethnic and religious backgrounds. Our mission is to bring Canadians together to ask our government to be an example to the world to outlaw Suicide Bombing targeting civilians and to prosecute its organizers. We support the Bill to specifically include Suicide Bombing as "terrorist activity" in the Criminal Code.
Suicide Bombing is now the means for many political, national or religious movements to pursue their cause. They killed Canadian Glyn Berry, our diplomat in Afghanistan, and their targets are civilians in public places including mosques, churches, synagogues, schools, restaurants, buses, planes and subways. The victims include Muslims, Christians, Hindus, Jews and Buddhists. They kill in Afghanistan, China, Egypt, Indonesia, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, London, Morocco, Pakistan, the Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Turkey and USA. and the list grows.
Canada is a unique mixture of religions, ethnic groups, colours and cultures with ties to all parts of the world. We are known internationally as peacekeepers and our religious leaders, who represent all the world's major faiths, say that God's will must never be used to incite violence or justify terrorism. We can make a difference.
We do not take sides in any local or regional conflict and believe that no matter the rights or wrongs of any conflict, Suicide Bombing against civilians can never be justified. Goals may be open to debate – but Suicide Bombing as a means is morally wrong. We must stop them all who die to kill.
