TERRORISTS MUST BE CHALLENGED INTERNATIONALLY

An international political campaign is needed to condemn and pursue those who teach, organize, and finance Suicide Bombings.

The world's largest regional security organization, The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE), which includes Canada, said terrorist acts committed by Suicide Bombers are Crimes Against Humanity. A UN report says attacks that specifically target innocent civilians must be condemned and is never an acceptable tactic, “even for the most defensible of causes”. The UN has an international framework for mobilizing counter-terrorism measures and should be pressed to help stop Suicide Bombing.

CANADA CAN SHOW THE WAY AS WE DID WITH
THE OTTAWA TREATY ON LAND MINES

Canada led the way with our international prestige on the Ottawa Treaty on land mines, in peacekeeping ventures, and by Nobel Prize Winner Lester Pearson's example. We can do so again. Our government could champion a campaign to condemn Suicide Bombing against civilians anywhere, and press the UN and all nations to specifically include Suicide Bombing in anti-terror laws and to prosecute the perpetrators.

Our future challenge could be asking Canada to pursue this
