Suicide Bombing by political, national or religious groups became a weapon of terror over the past decades. Beginning with the Sri Lanka Tamils in the '80s it is now their most widely used weapon.

Our original list of civilian, government and military targets showed how widespread it became. Unfortunately there are now too many for CANASB, with limited finances, to record. Individual pages, therefore, highlight important events into 2007.

Original data was collected from sources including:

• Google
Wikipedia the Free encyclopedia. See Iraq page for details and   examples from their web.
•The Oklahoma City National Memorial Institute for the Prevention of Terrorism (research @mipt.org).
•The International Policy Institute for Counterterrorism
